Sina Mohaupt is an extremely reliable translator whose work we highly value. With her excellent grasp for language, she ensures that our texts are also entirely coherent and a pleasure to read in English. We would recommend Ms. Mohaupt anytime.
German Biobank Node
Sina Mohaupt was extremely professional and at the same time very pleasant and fair in her cooperation. She translated both the prepared and ad hoc speeches made during our civil wedding ceremony extremely fluently, and naturally also in both directions, providing pleasant support for less experienced speakers. This allowed all guests to take part in our bilingual celebration and to feel entirely at ease. We can warmly recommend Sina.

Interpreting and translation The subtle difference
Interpreting Verbal transfer of one language to another
For larger events, conferences or seminars/workshops
The interpreters (mostly a team of two colleagues) sit in a booth and translate what is said into the target language virtually at the same time as the speaker (i.e. simultaneously). The audience listens to the translation via headphones. Additional technology is required (booth, receivers/headphones, etc.).
Whisper interpreting (chuchotage)
For smaller groups of up to 15 people
The interpreters sit in the same room as the group and “whisper” the translation to (max. two to three) listeners at almost the same time as the speaker. A mobile guide system can enable whisper interpreting for more than three people. In this case, the listeners hear the translation via headphones.
For toasts and reception speeches, special occasions
The interpreter translates longer passages lasting several minutes into the target language with a time delay (i.e. consecutively) using a special note-taking technique. About twice the normal amount of time must be planned in for the event if this technique is used.
For telephone conferences, discussions and negotiations in smaller groups
Similar to consecutive interpreting, the translation is provided with a time delay. However, shorter sections comprising just a few sentences are translated into the target language, which enables greater interaction. About twice the normal amount of time must also be planned in for the event if this technique is used.
Translation Written transfer of one language to another
Whether a company brochure, website, specialised text or press release, the translation of your texts is in the very best hands with me.
Technically sound, stylistically flawless and always clearly comprehensible.
I would be more than happy to advise on the most appropriate type of interpreting for your event (simultaneous, consecutive, liaison or whispered) and to organise the required technology as necessary. For larger events involving several languages, I can gladly put together booth teams for the language combinations required.
I am of course also able to translate documents for your events for you, such as presentations, handouts and conference documents – providing comprehensive services from one single source.
